the SPUD
The Spud is the newest addition to the Fluid lineup. this stubby little guy sports a step-deck which keeps good volume in the board all the way out to just before the rails where it "steps down" to allow for a thinner rail. This volume is what allows you to go short with one, with plenty of float, yet still keep a relatively thin rail for responsive turning.
The bottom stays flat then blends into a single concave through the back third. we keep a little rocker in this one rather than going totally flat so you can still turn this board in the pocket and take it vertical.
We rocommend the Spud in EPS/epoxy for maximum float at minimum size. You'll probably want to experiment with different fins on this one, and the 5-fin setup allows maximum flexibility.
